Summary:

This case report details a 76-year-old man with Parkinson’s disease who died three weeks after his third COVID-19 vaccination. Despite a clinical diagnosis of aspiration pneumonia, autopsy revealed unexpected acute vasculitis and multifocal necrotizing encephalitis, attributed to the spike protein from the vaccine rather than a viral infection. Histopathological studies indicated pronounced inflammation in both the brain and heart. The findings highlight potential severe adverse effects of mRNA vaccines, particularly in vulnerable populations, and stress the importance of thorough post-mortem examinations in ambiguous cases.
