Getting started as SAVIMS Member
What members need to know!
We are an ethical group of medical- and other healthcare practitioners, as well as lawyers and other concerned citizens, who are developing a knowledge factory by following evidence rather than authority. We are apolitical and not an activist group. We encourage critical analysis and open debate, in pursuit of awareness, understanding and problem solving. We welcome all who share our values, and are interested in furthering knowledge and promoting human health and human rights.
Members have access to the weekly SAVIMS meetings, as well as recordings of those meetings. For medical- and other healthcare practitioners, our meetings are CPD-accredited.
The purposes, objectives and ethics of the study group are set out on page 2 of the SAVIMS Constitution.

Logging In
You can log in to the SAVIMS site any time using your email and password here.
Forgot Your Password?
No worries — just click “Lost your password?” on the login page and follow the steps to reset it or visit this link.
Tip: To avoid getting blocked by our firewall, don’t try more than 2 incorrect password attempts. If you’re unsure, it’s better to reset your password instead. If you opt to reset your password, a link will be sent to the email address your account is connected to.
Manage Your Listing in the SAVIMS Healthcare Provider Directory
When you register as a member for the first time, you can opt in to be added to our public healthcare provider’s directory. Here’s how:
To add or remove your profile from the SAVIMS Healthcare Provider Directory, follow these steps:
- Log In: Make sure you are logged into your SAVIMS account.
- Access Privacy Settings: Go to your account privacy settings at this link.
- Look for Who can see my profile? and choose:
Everyone
→ to appear in the directoryOnly me
→ to remain hidden
- Update Directory Visibility: Adjust the “Hide my profile from directory” option:
- Select YES to not display your profile in the directory.
- Select NO to include your public profile in the directory (your profile visibility must be set to ‘everyone’ for this to work).
Update Your Profile
To edit your Membership and Healthcare Provider profile (like your name, email, and other details), be sure to log in first and go here.
Suggesting a resource to be added to SAVIMS Reference Library
